The Harrison County Board of Supervisors approved the consent agenda and a series of administrative orders covering ARPA-funded sewer improvements, road intersection work, equipment bids and other procurement items.
Notable actions included approving change orders on ARPA MCW sewer system expansions, an agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey for flood-detection gauges (cost share: $30,750 from county, $3,000 from USGS), acceptance of subdivision road maintenance, and purchase orders for construction equipment and vehicles. The board also adjudicated legal counsel appointments for pending litigation and authorized various county contracts and vehicle purchases as listed on the agenda.
Motions on these routine items were made, seconded and carried by voice vote. A few items were discussed (for example, bid specifications for vehicles and the need to ensure bids met specs) before approval; staff answered questions and the board moved forward with awards and budget transfers.
Next steps: staff will execute contracts, complete required change-order documentation and proceed with project scheduling and procurement deliveries.
