County staff asked commissioners to approve submitting an application to the CDOT/FTA 5339 program for the Roundup Bus Barn project.
The grant request is $300,000 with a 20% local match. Staff explained the match is not currently budgeted and could come from either sale proceeds of a county facility or a supplemental appropriation once a capital assessment is completed. "$300,000 is the grant application request, and our match is 20 percent," staff said.
Commissioners discussed whether that level of local investment was prudent and noted the potential for the project to consolidate resources and reduce long‑term costs by avoiding separate building projects. A motion to accept and submit the grant application was made, seconded and approved.
Staff will proceed with the application and return as needed with a financing plan for the local match.
