Jackie, representing the Roseville Public Library, presented design graphics and program plans for the library renovation at the Oct. 28 council meeting.
She said the project includes large and small meeting rooms (one named Macomb Gardens), seven study/meeting rooms, a makerspace, expanded archives and additional computer stations. Jackie said the renovation is intended to reflect Roseville’s history and to provide services beyond books — tools, equipment lending and community programs for seniors and youth.
Jackie noted the library has an associated millage renewal on the Nov. 4 ballot and encouraged residents to vote. She also said library staff are preparing a vetted list of local food banks and support services for residents who may be affected by potential SNAP benefit changes.
Council members praised the renderings and thanked library staff, and several members reminded residents to vote. The city clerk also announced extended weekend hours for absentee ballots and a change from 18 precincts to 12 for the upcoming election.
What’s next: Library staff will continue construction and finalize graphic installations for a future grand opening; the millage renewal will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot.
