Roseville resident group urges council to prioritize youth substance-use prevention

At the second hearing of the public, Nina Olszewski of the Roseville Community Coalition asked the council to prioritize youth substance-use prevention and requested a short informational agenda item at an upcoming meeting.
Olszewski, who identified herself and her Roseville address, described the coalition’s work with schools, parents, law enforcement and local organizations and said city involvement would strengthen community protective factors such as positive adult relationships, consistent messaging and safe youth activities.
"When the city of Roseville prioritizes prevention, promotes consistent messaging, and supports community partnerships, it sends a powerful signal that the well-being of our youth is a shared responsibility," Olszewski said.
Council and staff asked Olszewski to forward coalition contact information to city staff; staff (Mister Monroe) and the police department indicated they would schedule a brief informational presentation on an upcoming agenda.
No formal action or vote was taken; the request was routed to staff for scheduling.
