The honorable Amy Bachman, presiding municipal court judge, administered the oath of office to Gaylene Castriada, who repeated the oath and was congratulated by council and staff.
Judge Bachman then called newly elected and re-elected council members individually to the podium to swear the oaths. Council members sworn in during the ceremony included Julie Twist, Austin Ward, Sarah Brown, Sean McKenzie and Todd Cohen. Each repeated the oath affirming support for the U.S. and Colorado constitutions and the charter and ordinances of the City and County of Broomfield and pledged to faithfully perform the duties of their offices.
After the oaths, the council recessed for a brief reception and group photo before reconvening to continue with organizational business including a roll call and agenda approval.
