The Coppell City Council approved a zoning amendment (PD 160 R2MF-2, "Mansions By The Lake") during its Jan. 13 meeting to convert 1,132 square feet on the second floor of a clubhouse at Lakeside Apartments into a one‑bedroom residential unit.
City staff described the project and noted the conversion includes required building-code fire separations and that parking count is unchanged; the development will move the total allowed unit count from 315 to 316 while retaining 893 parking spaces. Staff reported 46 notices were mailed within 200 feet and 209 courtesy notices within 800 feet; no written responses in favor or opposition were received and Planning & Zoning unanimously recommended approval with the condition that building-permit review may produce additional comments.
Councilmember Nevills moved to close the public hearing and approve the agenda item with listed conditions; Councilmember Prem Kumar seconded. A roll-call vote recorded Walker, Hinojosa Smith, Carol, Nevills, Prem Kumar, Matthew and Hill in favor; none opposed. The council did not receive public testimony on this item during the hearing.
