Fortuna planning commissioners elect Nichols chair, Eamon vice chair

The City of Fortuna Planning Commission reorganized its leadership at the start of Tuesday's meeting, electing Commissioner Nichols as chair and Commissioner Eamon as vice chair.

Chair Kine opened nominations for chair; Commissioner Nichols was nominated and the commission carried the nomination in a roll-call vote. Later, Commissioner Eamon accepted a nomination for vice chair and the commission approved that election by roll-call vote.

The reorganization was routine and conducted at the beginning of the meeting. No public comments were offered on the leadership changes.

The commission then proceeded to its regular agenda, including a staff presentation on proposed amendments to the city's accessory dwelling unit regulations.

The commission adjourned at the end of the meeting after routine business and congratulated the newly elected chair and vice chair.
