Tina Tobias, Lebanon County treasurer, told the Board of Commissioners that the county began the accounting period with $725,202.90 in cash, recorded $2,851,644.92 in receipts and had total cash of $3,576,847.72 before expenditures and tax claims left an ending cash balance of $499,939.34.
The board then considered a resolution brought by Tobias to raise tax certificate fees in the treasurer's office from $15 to $25 and to increase electronic filing fees for both the treasurer's office and the tax claim bureau from $150 to $300. Tobias described the two items as a single resolution; commissioners moved, seconded and approved the change.
The fee increases were presented as an update to current administrative charges; no commissioner debate about alternatives or fiscal impacts beyond the amounts was recorded. The board also approved the minutes from a Dec. 4 personnel session and a Dec. 11 executive session, and voted to accept the treasurer's report.
Tina Tobias said, "We start our with our cash balance of $725,202.90," and read the receipts and expenditure figures during her presentation.
The vote was recorded by voice; the board took no additional action to delay or amend the fee change. The meeting moved on to a full slate of personnel and contract items later on the agenda.
