Summary
The Aurora Planning and Zoning Commission approved a site plan with two adjustments for 14 townhomes at South Galena and East Warren, accepting staff’s findings and requiring resolution of outstanding technical issues before permits.
The Aurora Planning and Zoning Commission approved a site plan with two adjustments for 14 townhome units at the northeast corner of South Galena Street and East Warren Avenue on Jan. 14.
Rasheed Rabah, the city case manager, told commissioners the World Real Estate Development Company seeks two adjustments to minimum lot area and lot frontage standards for two townhome buildings on 0.71 acres and that staff supports the requests because the proposal meets the Unified Development Ordinance criteria and is compatible with surrounding uses. Rabah said outstanding technical issues must be resolved before recordation and issuance of building permits.
Commissioner Melvin Busch moved to approve the site plan based on the staff report; Commissioner Banka seconded the motion. The commission voted 6‑0 to approve. In roll call, each commissioner voiced approval and the chair declared agenda item 8A adopted.
The approval is contingent on resolving the technical issues Rabah cited; staff will monitor those items before final permits are issued. No members of the public signed up to speak on the item at the hearing.
