Winslow Township — At the Jan. 7 reorganization meeting, the Winslow Township Board of Education agreed to delay finalizing citizen advisory committee appointments and extend the CAC application window to Jan. 14 to allow additional applicants. The motion to delay finalization was moved by Wanda Glaude and seconded; the extension was discussed and later approved for follow-up at the Jan. 14 meeting.
Board members discussed an emailed question about how many people had applied to the CAC and noted some community confusion over the new email submission feature for public comment. The board said procedural and principal-directed questions received by email will be routed to principals; questions specifically for the board will be answered directly and the CAC applicant pool will remain open for the extended period.
Separately, the board heard an informational update that middle school repairs have been completed and that students have returned to the middle school building. The speaker noted that “some priceless items” remained under review but that the students had resumed classes at the middle school.
The board asked administration to collect additional CAC applications and report back at the Jan. 14 meeting when appointments will be finalized. No in-person public commenters spoke during the meeting; the board received multiple emailed submissions that it said staff would address or forward to principals as appropriate.
Next steps: the CAC appointment process will resume at the Jan. 14 board meeting; the board asked administration to compile applicant information and provide that material for consideration.
