Silver Creek Academy of Finance students advance to BPA state conference after regional placements

Silver Creek High School’s Academy of Finance students reported regional success at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) competition and will advance to the state leadership conference in Indianapolis.
Senior Lisa Weeks, co-president of the Academy of Finance, told the board that students placed across multiple events at regionals and qualified for state: Ryan Graham (third, interview skills; third, extemporaneous speech), Lisa Weeks (third, prepared speech; first, personal financial management), Caroline Baronclaw (third, payroll accounting), and a slate of high placings in fundamental and advanced accounting and business law and ethics by Catherine Mears, Kiara Lim, Braden Roberts, Luke Ott, Brady Miller, Noah Kane, Alec Jacobs, Brianna Viveiros and Jennifer Ramirez. Weeks also noted that last year three students—Caroline, Noah and Weeks—competed at the national level in Orlando and earned top-placing finishes.
"We are excited to showcase our hard work, dedication, and leadership skills on a state level, and we thank you for your support in motivating our students to achieve these accomplishments," Weeks said. The board offered congratulations and welcomed the students to stay for the remainder of the meeting.
The students will compete at the BPA State Leadership Conference in March in Indianapolis.
