Mills County commissioners vote to reinstate burn ban as dry, windy conditions return

"It's time to put it back on," the judge said, citing wind and deteriorating conditions. Commissioners made and seconded a motion to reinstate the ban and the motion passed unanimously.
Commissioners noted neighboring counties have similar restrictions in place and asked staff to publish the notice online and through regular public channels so residents are aware of the reinstated restrictions.
Next steps: county staff will publish the burn-ban notice and coordinate with local fire chiefs on enforcement and notices to residents.
