Construction on new Hummes Elementary progressing; structural steel expected in February

FA Wilhelm reported excavation, concrete foundations and MEP work underway at the new Hummes Elementary site; contractor said the schedule is roughly a week behind but expects to be back on track in February with structural steel installation slated next.
FA Wilhelm project manager Patrick Allender and site superintendent Rick Rittenhouse updated the board on Hummes Elementary construction during the Jan. 14 meeting. Presenters showed photos of site work — temporary service drives, excavation, building pad preparation, concrete foundations and early MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) work — and said the project is a little over halfway through foundation and concrete stages.
Allender said the team expects to catch up by February and that structural steel installation is likely in February. He said they will provide an updated schedule (the firm produced an updated schedule on Jan. 9) and will distribute it to district staff and trustees. Construction team members noted weather has affected progress in places but reported no major unresolved issues.
Trustees asked no substantive scheduling questions at the meeting; staff said they would make the updated project schedule available to the board and stakeholders.
