Hardin County recognized two retiring employees and approved small community grants

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Hardin County Commissioners recognized two long-serving employees and approved small community grants tied to the courthouse Christmas tree lighting.
The court honored Regina Vulcan for nine years of service as a health inspector and Mary Anne Huff for 10 years as a custodian. Regina Vulcan addressed the court, thanked colleagues and said she has confidence in her named replacement: Jan Hunter. "I'm I'm really gonna miss it," Vulcan said as she described her years of service.
The court also approved acceptance of a $4,000 Walmart Community Grant to support the annual courthouse Christmas tree lighting and authorized submission of an application to the Entity Grants Foundation for $2,000 for the same event. If awarded, the grants will be deposited to the county donations line earmarked for the CH tree lighting event.
The recognitions and small grants are part of routine community-event support and personnel acknowledgments recorded in the county minutes.
