Hardin County approves two VOCA grant applications totaling $625,000

Rebecca Walton, district attorney, requested adoption of Resolution 1-26 to authorize submission of a VOCA application for the 2026–2027 grant cycle in the amount of $275,000; the court approved the resolution by voice vote.
Resolution 2-26, authorizing submission of a separate VOCA application for $350,000 for the Hardin County Crime Victims Assistance Center, was presented on behalf of Lisa Brocker (the director could not attend and a representative stood in). The court approved that resolution as well.
Both items were presented as routine grant-authority approvals for ongoing victim services; no conditions or matching requirements were stated in the courthouse discussion. The approvals allow the county’s victim-services programs to pursue state-administered VOCA funding for the coming grant year.
