The Christian County Commission approved two procurement items: a one-year renewal with KONE for continuous elevator-phone monitoring and preventative maintenance, and a two-year renewal to continue purchases through the Omnia Partners cooperative online marketplace (including Amazon).

Staff told commissioners that KONE provides 24/7 wireless monitoring and had corrected prior compliance problems when elevator calls were routed to an administrative office that was not always staffed. "This is the second contract renewal, which begins January 18. It goes for a year," an official said during the presentation. Staff noted KONE maintained its price from the prior year and handles preventative maintenance.

Separately, staff recommended continuing to use the Omnia Partners cooperative contract for online marketplace purchases; presenters described the cooperative as a national bid mechanism used by many public entities and recommended a two-year renewal to maintain access to competitively procured pricing.

Both renewals were approved by motion and voice vote with no recorded dissent.
