PGCPS updates P3 school construction, solar projects and on-campus clinics

Director Matlock of the Office of Alternative Infrastructure Planning and Development (OAIPD) told the Operations, Budget & Fiscal Affairs Committee on Dec. 17 that PGCPS's public-private partnership (P3) school program is advancing on multiple fronts.
Solar installations: Matlock said solar-panel installation under the district's climate-change action plan is underway at all six phase 1 schools. "The first two schools will receive energy over the winter break. The remaining four schools will be ready for energizing by spring," he said, and added the resiliency office will provide data to demonstrate energy savings. He said the program may yield grant funding and potential tax credits.
