The Planning Commission granted a continuance to Feb. 10, 2026 for Sierra View Materials’ conditional-use permit request for an aggregate pit and asphalt plant after applicants rescinded the asphalt-batch portion of their application and asked to return with a revised submittal. Senior planner Lewis Ferriero explained applicants decided to rescind the asphalt-batch portion and that staff recommended a continuance so a new staff report and revised recommended conditions could be prepared.
Ferriero told commissioners that the applicants requested the continuance because they intend to bring back a new project description and materials. Commissioners asked for clearer information when the matter returns, including how aggregate will be obtained (blasting vs. excavation) and specifics about the proposed pond and its impacts. The commission motioned to continue the item to Feb. 10 and approved the continuance by voice vote.
