During the Plan Commission meeting staff announced a new planning manager hire who will start in the coming weeks and is expected to take on some planning duties currently shared across staff. Staff said this hire will help support a busy upcoming construction season.

Staff also updated the commission on the SportsDome project: foundations and utilities are in place and the SportsDome developer is awaiting ComEd approval. Staff said the SportsDome is an 18,000-square-foot structure with a supporting building expected to be constructed by late summer; temporary toilet facilities will be used during early operations until the full supporting building is complete.
