The Muncie Redevelopment Commission reorganized for 2026 on Jan. 15, re-affirming Isaac Miller as president, Dane Bishop as vice president and Steve Prabilla as secretary.
The commission then approved the meeting agenda and adopted the previous meeting’s minutes after a roll-call vote. Staff presented the claims report, noting that bond payments made up the bulk of the spending; after members’ questions a motion to approve the claims passed unanimously.
Later in the meeting the commission approved a staff request to allocate about $250,000 from various tax-increment financing (TIF) funds to public works for street paving in development areas. Commission discussion named streets including Walnut, Adams and Liberty as likely candidates. A member moved the paving allocation; a second was recorded and the commission voted in favor by unanimous roll call.
Quotes from the meeting reflect the routine approach: when the paving allocation was proposed a commissioner moved the measure ‘‘to approve the 250,000 to the public works department for paving in the TIFs.’’ City staff confirmed the funds would be drawn from the TIFs associated with the areas benefiting from the work.
The meeting closed after additional business and a public-comment period.
