Lacey Planning Commission approves agenda, re-nominates Jeff as chair and names Robert Lane vice chair

The Lacey Planning Commission on Jan. 15 handled routine business and internal organization before taking up a staff briefing on middle housing.
The commission approved the meeting agenda and the Dec. 10 minutes by voice vote. During commissioner reports, Jeri praised local Holcomb Bay construction crews for holiday decorations. Staff reported the comprehensive plan and zoning updates had been unanimously adopted by the city council on Dec. 16 and thanked the commission for its role.
Public comment included an appearance by Chris Lester, who introduced himself as a representative of the Thurston County Realtors Association: "I am a government affairs director for the Thurston County Realtors Association," he said.
Under new business, the commission opened nominations for chair and vice chair. Commissioner Karen nominated Jeff to continue as chair; Jeff accepted. Commissioner Spencer nominated Robert Lane for vice chair; Robert Lane accepted. The commission approved both nominations by show of hands.
Staff also announced interviews for new commission members tentatively scheduled for the week of the 26th and said there were five applicants.
The meeting then moved to the middle-housing presentation and subsequent discussion before adjourning.
