The Wellington Town Planning Commission opened its monthly meeting with roll call and then moved to elections for its chair and vice chair, selecting a nominated commissioner identified in the meeting only as “Eric” to serve as chair and Tim White house to serve as vice chair.
Cody Byrd, the town planning director, explained the procedure for nominating and voting for officer positions and opened the floor. A commissioner formally nominated “Eric” for chair; another commissioner seconded the nomination and the nominee accepted. The commission then took a roll-call vote and the nomination was approved. Later, commissioners nominated Tim White house for vice chair; White house accepted and a subsequent roll-call vote approved that nomination.
The meeting record contains inconsistent transcriptions of the nominated Eric’s surname (several variants appear in the transcript). The record unambiguously shows his first-name acceptance and that the roll-call votes approved both officer nominations.
No controversial debate accompanied the nominations. Commissioners also approved the meeting minutes from December by motion and roll-call vote earlier in the meeting.
The commission moved on after completing the procedural items, with staff noting a lighter agenda and the need to preserve time for more substantial public hearings anticipated in March.
