Wappingers board recognizes Mustafa Kamara as BOCES Student of Distinction

At the Wappingers Central School District Board of Education meeting on Jan. 12, 2026, Dutchess County BOCES honored Mustafa Kamara as the Student of Distinction for January.
Miss Czowski, an assistant superintendent for education services with Dutchess County BOCES, presented Kamara and praised his perseverance, academics, kindness and contributions to chorus and classroom activities. "He is a very dedicated and motivated student who perseveres through challenges and strives for academic excellence," she said, also noting his musical interests and classroom leadership. Kamara came forward to receive a certificate in recognition of the honor.
The presentation was part of the superintendent spotlight portion of the agenda; board members and audience members applauded the recognition. The board also used the meeting to highlight multiple student achievements and school events during the communications portion of the agenda.
