Seymour — The Seymour City Council on Jan. 15 approved Resolution 15-98 ordering elections for city council positions.

City staff explained the elections schedule: a special election on May 2 to fill two vacancies (positions 2 and 4) with one-year terms and a general election for positions 1, 3 and 5 for two-year terms. Candidate packets are available in the city secretary’s office, and the filing deadline was stated as Feb. 13. Early voting was described as running from April 20 through April 28.

A councilmember moved and the council seconded and approved the resolution to order the elections; council members were asked to sign documents before leaving to make the action official.
