Development Commission approves several rezonings, reappoints housing council member and hears housing program update

Jeremy Heater, program manager for the Residential Tax Incentive Program, briefed the commission on the voluntary city program that can abate up to 100% of tax increases tied to new residential construction for as long as 15 years. Heater said the city updated affordability requirements in 2023, expanded eligibility in 2024 to roughly 85% of the city, and launched an online application in 2023 to streamline approvals.
