Concord Township swears in officials, elects Pileggi council president

At its annual reorganization meeting, Concord Township sworn in four council members and elected Dominic Pileggi president; the council also approved routine appointments, bonds and service designations.
Dominic Pileggi, John J. Gillespie, Dana M. Rankin and James G. Hunt were sworn into office at the start of Concord Township’s reorganization and regular meeting. Each repeated the oath to "support, obey and defend the Constitution of The United States and the Constitution of this Commonwealth" and pledged to discharge their duties with fidelity.
After the oath and the pledge of allegiance, council moved to reorganize leadership. A motion naming Dominic Pileggi as president of council and John Gillespie and John Crossan as vice presidents was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The changes mark the council’s first formal business of the year and were followed by a public comment period in which resident Karis Coker congratulated the newly sworn officials and urged them to remember the "solemn obligation" of their oath.
The council then proceeded to routine housekeeping business, including appointment of township officers and professionals and scheduling annual meeting dates. No roll-call votes were recorded in the public record during the leadership election; the chair announced the motion carried after members signified assent by voice.
The council adjourned after completing the evening’s agenda.
