Mayor announced an intention to restore councilmembers to regional board and committee assignments and presented a slate of nominations for committees including the Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District, fairgrounds authority, AVTA, audit committee, investment oversight committee, Palmdale Recycled Water Authority and the Cal Cities (Desert Mountain Division).
Council discussed an inadvertent omission for the League of California Cities appointment and amended the motion to add that seat; the amended motion passed by voice vote. The city attorney later clarified that Cal Cities and the Desert Mountain Division are the same organization; the appointments were confirmed and recorded.
The mayor noted a few statutory seats (sanitation districts, investment oversight) that require specific placements by office and reiterated his intent to return committee assignments to preexisting rosters with minor statutory changes.
