Greenville ISD board authorizes TEA waiver to provide remote homebound instruction

District staff requested board approval to submit a Texas Education Agency waiver that permits remote homebound instruction when a student, due to a medical or other qualifying condition, is unable to attend in-person school. The administration said the district currently has one student who meets the criteria with verified medical documentation.
"This waiver would permit the district to provide those remote homebound instruction services and continue to receive ADA funds," the presenter said, explaining that approval would maintain funding while the student receives remote services.
Trustees authorized submission of the waiver for the 2025'26 school year and delegated authority to the superintendent or designee to complete and submit required documentation. The motion was moved and seconded and passed on a voice vote.
