The Hoschton City Council recognized Diane Blankenship during its regular meeting, thanking her for roughly 50 years of service with the Hoschton Women's Civic Club.
The mayor outlined the group’s contributions, including playground equipment for a kiddie park, picnic tables and benches, a bulletproof vest for the police department, band uniforms and donations to local schools, support for Boy Scouts and local nonprofits such as Casa and IServe ministries, seasonal lighting and hosting the city’s tree lighting at the gazebo. The mayor presented Blankenship with a small gift and invited residents to see historical items that will be placed on public display.
Local presenter Lyle described historic materials he has shared with the city, including documents dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that will be displayed in the depot.
