Council approves 2026 road program bids, Shepherd Road loan and an appointment to the JEDD board

Macedonia City Council adopted three resolutions and approved committee assignments at its January meeting.
Resolution 1 authorizes the city engineer to prepare plans, bids and specifications and authorizes the mayor to advertise for bids for the city's 2026 road improvement program; Director Gilotti listed streets proposed for paving this season including Vernon, Harper, Cherry, South Chinaberry, Firestone and North Spring Hill. The resolution was offered for its readings by title only and adopted.
Resolution 2 authorizes resurfacing of Shepherd Road from Route 82 north to the I‑480 bridge as a joint project with the city of Twinsburg. Director Gilotti said Twinsburg will cover 20 percent of the work and the project will be funded through a 0% interest loan from the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC). The council voted to adopt the resolution.
Resolution 3 confirms the mayor's appointment of Councilor Matt Ferraro to the board of directors of the North Hill Center Township–Macedonia Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) to fill the vacancy left by Mr. Ventura; the council adopted the resolution.
A separate motion to adopt the committee assignments drafted in the earlier work session was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
