Local GOP organizers announce January–February candidate forums in Lavaca County area

Cognac listed a Jan. 26 forum at the high school cafetorium open to state, local and federal candidates; a Precinct 2 commissioner forum Feb. 12 at Moravia Parish Hall featuring candidates for Precinct 2; and two Yoakum-area Republican women events — Feb. 7 (meet-and-greet 5–6 p.m., forum 6–8 p.m.) and Feb. 11 (11:30 a.m.–1 p.m.) at the Yoakum Community Center.
Cognac said organizers will provide flyers and that the county will promote party-affiliated events on county channels if appropriate. “Thank you, judge and commissioners for letting me speak,” Cognac said on the record. The presiding official asked for flyers to distribute via county channels and the county clerk’s office.
