District leaders acknowledged the concern and explained constraints when law enforcement is leading an incident response: the district must coordinate messaging with the investigating agency and follows law-enforcement cues about what can be released publicly. The superintendent said the district routinely debriefs after incidents to refine messaging and that counseling and site-level supports are directed to families through school administrators.
