"As approved in this year's budget, we will be doing an e cycle event... April 18 from 8AM to 12PM," the director said, adding the event will be at Bonney Road weather permitting and relocated to the Municipal Services Building if necessary.
On permitting, the director said the planning and clerk's departments are integrating forms into a cloud permit system and that the village's right‑of‑way permit has not been updated in several years and currently does not require a fee. Staff plan to draft proposed fees and options consistent with what similar municipalities do and will return to the committee for feedback.
The director reported the village purchased an F‑350 pickup with a salter attachment and completed a tool‑cat trade‑in; both purchases came in under budget. Staff also said the Quarry Ridge Phase D extension and Hay Day development are progressing; Hay Day is on schedule and staff are awaiting a rectilinear rapid‑flashing beacon update and railings expected in February.
Regarding Amazon, the director said Amazon is not undertaking public improvements at present but provided updated design drawings in December to county and state reviewers and to the village; Strand and village staff will review those plans but final approvals for certain improvements rest with county and state authorities. "We can only ask questions and provide what guidance and what questions we may have," the director said.
What happens next: staff will draft a stop‑sign policy and proposed right‑of‑way permit updates for committee review, finalize arrangements for the e‑cycle event, and continue to review Amazon’s submitted drawings and report back to the committee.
