The Oak Creek Plan Commission on Jan. 13 recommended that the common council approve a conditional use permit for Elite Tumbling Factory to relocate to 440 West Bell Court, Suite 400.
Staff (Nick) told the commission the business currently operates at 442 West Rawson and runs six locations in southeast Wisconsin. The proposed hours are roughly 4:30 p.m.–9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.–1 p.m. weekends, with peak hours between about 5:30 and 7 p.m. Staff estimated about 500 patrons per week across locations and reported that parish code would require 28 parking spaces for the proposed use; the applicant requested a parking adjustment to allow 24 spaces.
Applicant Tony Pumdongsi said the property manager has agreed to add approximately 10 parking spaces on site and that he works closely with local schools and youth programs. He described the business as focused on recreational tumbling and acrobatics, not competitive programs, and said the current Oak Creek location has outgrown its space. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about co‑located programs (a larger adjacent “ninja” facility remains in the complex) and the applicant said Elite’s programming is smaller scale and complementary.
Donnie moved that the commission recommend approval of the conditional use permit after a public hearing, subject to conditions and restrictions as presented; Seapert seconded and the motion carried by roll-call vote. The recommendation will go to the common council for final action; staff and the applicant must finalize parking improvements and any technical conditions before council consideration.
