Mayor read a proclamation declaring Jan. 19, 2026, Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in Highland Park. Paul Canchester, chair of the Human Relations Advisory Group, accepted the proclamation and described the event at Park Fitness (10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.), over 30 participating agencies, donation drop-offs from 9–10:30 a.m., and a keynote by Dr. Shayla Holland.

Students asked residents to visit hpcharitydrive.org or scan a QR code to register and donate.
