"I would say based on, my recommendation, I would I would say we would, accept Haas's proposal based on our cost," Speaker 3 said.
The committee considered haul logistics, material quality, and loader/delivery responsibilities; staff noted that picking up a lower-cost material could require county loaders and operators, which would offset apparent savings. Speaker 6 moved to award the contract to Haas, Speaker 1 seconded, and the committee approved the motion on a voice vote.
What happens next: staff will proceed with contract arrangements and coordinate delivery schedules for the 2026 chip-seal season.
