Reno County commissioners unanimously approved routine business items, adopted a revised travel policy, and reorganized commission leadership at the meeting.
After the chair opened the meeting and no members of the public registered to speak, the board moved and approved the consent agenda as presented by staff; Abigail recorded unanimous "yes" votes from Commissioners Parks, Winger, Hurst and Bogner.
County staff presented an updated travel policy that increases per-diem allowances for meals when conference providers do not supply them and clarifies documentation and tip reimbursement procedures. A commissioner moved to approve the policy as presented; Abigail recorded a unanimous roll-call "yes" vote and the policy was adopted.
The commission then completed its annual reorganization. The outgoing chair nominated Ron Hurst for chair of the commission; a second was recorded and the commission voted unanimously to elect Hurst. Commissioners then nominated Randy Parks for vice chair; that nomination was seconded and approved unanimously.
The meeting concluded after routine commission reports and administrative notices about monthly departmental packets and a possible special meeting on the 21st.
