CPC subcommittee proposes pivot to a playground assessment to prioritize school projects

"We think the right way to go is to request an overall playground assessment and prioritization study," a subcommittee member said, explaining that the committee lacks in‑house capacity to prioritize dozens of playground needs across six elementary schools. Members discussed funding options—including splitting costs between CPC, capital and school budgets—and agreed that the schools and town manager should coordinate a single proposal; presenters from the Callahan School PTO were praised for thorough application materials.
The committee signaled support for a revised application and asked staff to prepare a packet for next week's meeting where the modified request may be considered for inclusion in Town Meeting materials.
