Dawson County commissioners on Jan. 15 approved routine consent items including ratifying the 2026 board meeting schedule and appointing Commissioner Chris Gaines as vice chair. The board also approved writing off uncollectible ambulance accounts from 2021 totaling $425,017.87.
Under separate consideration, the board approved a new retail package malt beverage and wine license for Shane Ventures LLC doing business as Marathon Food Mart at 25 Beartooth Parkway, Unit 100, Dawsonville. Staff noted the location previously operated as Nelson’s Food Mart and that owner Bridal Babani was present to answer questions.
Commissioner Bruce moved to approve the consent agenda and motions related to the alcohol license; the consent items passed 4-0 and the alcohol license was approved during the meeting.
