Board rejects APAC amendment, then approves committee assignments

Director France suggested the item might better sit in a handbook review and that the district should consult the APAC committee; others raised concerns about resources and whether prior participation by the chair or staff effectively supported APAC without changing the formal committee list. On a roll‑call vote, the amendment to add APAC failed (members recorded as voting yes or nay in the meeting transcript). The board then voted to approve the board committee assignments as presented, passing that motion 7–0.
Directors asked staff to move the topic of advisory‑committee definitions and handbook language to the retreat and to clarify representation and expectations for advisory groups going forward.
