Bothell Landmark Preservation Board approves Oct. 8 minutes; hears staff updates on inventory RFP and code update

At its Jan. 14 meeting the Bothell Landmark Preservation Board approved minutes from its Oct. 8, 2025 regular meeting and recorded the vote as passing 4–0.
A board member moved to approve the minutes (“Move the minutes to be accepted.”) and a second was recorded; Chair Nelson called for the vote and the board members present voted 'Aye' and the minutes were approved. No substantive discussion on the minutes was recorded.
During staff reports Ray Sosa said staff is preparing a request for proposals (RFP) for a historic resources inventory and expects to finalize the RFP by the end of the month and bring the item back to the board for discussion next month. Staff also noted one board-member term will expire this year and recruitment will begin; the city will hold a boards-and-commissions open house on Jan. 27 and council appointments are tentatively scheduled for April with appointments effective May 1.
Staff also told the board that staff will pursue a Landmark code update (Title 22) during the year to identify inconsistencies with state law and bring recommended edits to Landmark, planning commission and city council for review.
Before adjourning, Board member Thomas moved to adjourn, a second was recorded and the board voted 'Aye' with the meeting recorded as passing 4–0.
The board had no public comment on non-agenda items at the start of the meeting. The meeting was adjourned following routine business.
