The board approved the annual program position reduction resolution by roll call, with the clerk recording a 6–0 vote in favor. The resolution is an annual procedural item the board reviews at this time of year.
Finance staff reported a recent bond refunding that refinanced 2016 bonds and issued 2025A bonds; the department estimated taxpayer savings of about $400,000 from that financing action. Miss Cole also reported the district received a reallocation of voluntary prekindergarten seats and will braid approximately $67,000 of additional preschool funding into tuition and legacy school readiness funds to open an all-day program for 13 students (meals and busing included). In her words: "We are going to be able to save our taxpayers about $400,000."
The board accepted the 2025–26 employee handbook with updated paid-family-leave language inserted; the handbook was approved by motion and voice vote. Other routine items approved this evening included the consent agenda and several administrative motions.
Committee and department updates included early-trimester student credit recovery tracking, facilities work (window repairs at Tiger, pool mechanical upgrades, playground accessibility improvements), parks and recreation grant applications and a Roberts Park lighting project scheduled to complete in April 2026.
The board closed the public portion of the meeting and entered a closed session for superintendent evaluations.
