Human Services Committee schedules budget sessions and joint hearing on DCF's child-welfare IT system

The House Human Services Committee announced its agenda for next week, saying it will concentrate on the budget and begin with testimony from the secretary of the Agency of Human Services. The chair said the panel will attempt to schedule the Department for Children and Families and the health department to testify and will hear witnesses on H594.
The committee also scheduled a joint hearing with the Energy and Technology Committee on Friday afternoon to review the child welfare information system at DCF, citing recent news coverage and prior testimony to both committees. Members were told the meeting will run later than usual to accommodate those hearings.
The chair asked members to expect a longer session and noted the committee will resume technical work on bills and floor preparation during the week.
