Temple — At the close of the Jan. 15 workshop the mayor announced that the council would convene in executive session under Texas Government Code provisions to receive briefings on potential real-property acquisitions, pending or contemplated litigation, and employment duties and performance plans for key city officers.
The mayor read the statutory bases for closed session: Section 551.072 for deliberations about real property, Section 551.071 for consultation with counsel regarding litigation, and Section 551.074 for discussion of personnel matters including the city manager and other senior staff. The mayor said no final action would be taken during the closed sessions.
The council moved the remaining regular-agenda items to the next stage and prepared to enter the closed meeting.
