The Highland Village City Council approved the consent agenda on Jan. 13, carrying items 10–12 by voice vote (7–0). The package included approval of minutes from an Nov. 8, 2025 special work session; a resolution (as captioned on the agenda) authorizing an agreement with HD Way Concrete Services LLC for concrete pavement repairs under a cooperative purchasing agreement; and receipt of budget reports for the period ending Sept. 30, 2025.
In staff reports, the city noted a CoServ electric upgrade project that will replace lines and poles for approximately 1,200 residents in a phased work plan beginning Jan. 19, with each phase expected to last about six months. Brazos Electric Cooperative will undertake transmission-line work along Brazos Boulevard in coordination with the project. Staff also announced city offices will be closed Jan. 19 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and shared ticket dates and pricing for the annual daddy‑daughter dance on Feb. 20.
During status reports, council asked about a recent accident at Live Oak Marketplace; staff said a traffic study conducted in November was under review and will be presented at an early work session at the next meeting. City staff also reported that TxDOT indicated the contractor for a 407 corridor work was nearing the end of a five‑month contract period and that liquidated damages are being considered because the project is not on schedule.
