Petaluma Adult School staff said they serve about 2,000 adults each year across four sites and that 150 students are enrolled in high school completion programs; the program reported a 91% pass rate on equivalency tests. The school described partnerships with the City of Petaluma, Home First, First 5 and Cal Regional that have supported transitions to stable housing, car-seat distribution and apprenticeship opportunities. "We are the only K-12 adult education in the county," a presenter said, and staff noted the program has operated since 1912.
Funding details included $1.7 million from the California Adult Education Program, $148,000 from the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and additional revenue tied to apprenticeship LEA status; staff also highlighted roughly $365,000 in grants secured through community partnerships to support wraparound services.
Trustees thanked the presenters and acknowledged the adult-school role in workforce training and family support. No board action was required; staff said they would continue partnership work and report back on graduation and program outcomes.
