Council approves emergency DPW repair, Cherry Hill payment and authorizes bids for city projects

Cherry Hill resurfacing: Council approved payment of $218,500 to Wait Trim for work on the Cherry Hill Road resurfacing project to be paid from a restricted major roads fund. Mayor Mo Beydoun said Wayne County and Inkster will participate in funding: Inkster will reimburse roughly 40% and Wayne County will take future maintenance after a transfer of jurisdiction.
Bids authorization: Director Cooper received approval to advertise for PEC/PEG funded projects across municipal buildings to upgrade communications and studio equipment. The director estimated equipment and construction costs could be in the $300,000–$400,000 range but said construction quotes remain to be secured.
All items were approved by the council following explanation by directors that funds and account numbers were available and that emergency repairs were needed for safety.
