At their Jan. 16 meeting the Lorain County Board of Commissioners handled a series of routine but consequential items. Key outcomes recorded on the meeting agenda and in votes include:
• Approval of claims/purchase-order pages 1–14 with noted exceptions (motion approved; specific items pulled for later review such as item 22 and item 100). • Approval of transfers and advances as listed in the agenda (motions approved). • Approval of travel and bills pages as presented (motions approved). • Reappointments and appointments: commissioners approved multiple board appointments and reappointments, including the United Way Emergency Food & Shelter Program board (retroactive term), Goodwill Board, the Lorain County corrections planning board, Lorain County Community College board reappointment, public defender commission appointments and several advisory boards (airport advisory, visitors bureau, Keep Lorain County Beautiful and others). Most motions were moved, seconded and recorded with ayes from the commissioners. Items flagged for follow-up (such as the phone-services open PO and a consultant engagement for short-term rental revenue collection) will be revisited by staff and the board.
