Perrysburg board elects Sue Larimer president, names Laura Mankey vice president and adjusts meeting calendar

The Perrysburg Exempted Village School District Board of Education held its organizational meeting after administering oaths to newly seated members and elected Sue Larimer as board president.
Larimer was nominated and received the board's support. "I appreciate your support and your trust in me. I'm excited about this board," Larimer said after the vote. The board also nominated and elected Laura Mankey as vice president.
The board discussed its 2025 meeting calendar, including the timing of the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Capital Conference in November. Members agreed to change the district's regular monthly meeting time from 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., keep the set February special-meeting schedule, and leave November dates in place pending OSBA's final schedule.
On OSBA-related roles, the board appointed Laura as the district OSBA legislative liaison with Denise as alternate and confirmed student-achievement liaison responsibilities; it approved a group of OSBA appointments by roll call. In separate discussion, several members questioned the utility and clarity of longstanding board liaison appointments to city, county and township bodies. The board amended a motion and voted to remove four liaison appointments from the set of items being approved this evening.
The board then approved the consent agenda (routine items grouped for efficiency) by roll call. During a late discussion a board member asked about board compensation under state law; staff explained Ohio Revised Code allows boards to set pay up to statutory limits and that boards can vote not to receive pay going forward.
The presiding officer adjourned the meeting at 6:57 p.m.
