Millis Select Board approves tree‑services contract, event and routine business

At the Jan. 12 Select Board meeting the board approved several routine but actionable items:
• Stumpy's Tree Service: The board approved a contract not to exceed $100,000 and authorized the town administrator to sign based on the MAPC award and funding approved at the fall town meeting.
• Millis Beautification Day: The board approved the annual Lions Club Beautification Day for Saturday, April 11, 9 a.m.–noon (rain or shine). Volunteers, groups and families will register and be assigned locations.
• Minutes and financial commitment: The board approved draft minutes for Dec. 15, 2025, and authorized a water and sewer department commitment for December 2025 totaling $7,521.70.
• Executive session: The board voted to enter executive session to discuss strategies for contract negotiations with union personnel (AFSCME 93) and agreed to return only to adjourn.
Each motion passed unanimously as recorded during the meeting; town staff will execute the approved contracts and commitments and follow up with the board as appropriate.
